Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes and visiting San Diego capitalized on six turnovers to throttle Kansas City.
Jackie Battle, starting in place of Ryan Mathews, added a pair of short touchdowns - one rushing, one receiving - as the Chargers (3-1) raced to a 20-0 lead and were never threatened in the AFC West matchup.
Rivers completed 18 of 23 passes for 209 yards and threw 4-yard TD passes to Eddie Royal and Battle as San Diego bounced back from last week's humbling 27-3 home loss to Atlanta.
Nick Novak, signed late in the week after placekicker Nate Kaeding was ruled out with a groin injury, converted on all three field-goal attempts from 24, 47 and 45 yards as the Chargers beat the Chiefs (1-3) for the eighth time in 10 meetings.
Kansas City's Jamaal Charles rushed for 92 yards and a TD and had a 13-yard scoring reception, but also lost two fumbles, including one at his own 5-yard line to set up Battle's first score and a 17-0 lead in the first quarter.
